When it comes to global brands, it’s safe to say that adidas and Lego are two of biggest on the planet. Though the two may be in completely different industries, both evoke the same level of excitement and joy. With stores and fans all over the world, there is no denying the influence that both adidas and Lego have had for decades. Whilst you may not ever think of combining the two together, it looks like they are doing it for you.
Rumours suggest that adidas x Lego will be happening later this year. The collaborative partnership will see Lego use adidas ZX retro models as part of an A-ZX series, an alphabetised theme that will showcase the historic silhouettes, with special pairs being made for each letter. According to sources, the collaboration was supposed to release sooner but was delayed due to COVID-19. Of course, sneakerheads will remember that this is not the first time that adidas has dropped an A-ZX series.
Back in 2008, adidas dropped an A-ZX range and collaborated with the likes of Undefeated, Footpatrol, Colette and Huf. adidas has, in fact, already released a number of A-ZX sneakers in 2020, with a Superstar themed ZX8000 for the letter “S” and a retro of the ZX1000 standing for the letter “R.” From what we know so far, it doesn’t look like the A-ZX drops are done yet.
Reports indicate that the adidas x Lego sneakers will drop in October so there’s a little while to wait yet. With no images just yet, we will just wait to see what adidas and Lego have in plan.
