In the latest instalment in our Seller Series, we’re giving you a closer look at how you can get the best out of your selling experience on KLEKT. Over the past few months, we’ve seen a dramatic increase in the number of new sellers joining the KLEKT community. With that in mind, we thought we’d give a brief guide on how you can ensure you get a sale every time. Below, you’ll find out more about the Dos and Don’ts of selling on KLEKT.
We value all our sellers so that’s why we’ve decided to give a brief recap on exactly what you need to do when preparing to ship an item with us. After you’ve confirmed a sale the packaging process is the most important part of being a seller on KLEKT. This is how you guarantee you get your payout as quick as possible, with minimal risks and maximum success. Take a closer look at how you can become a power seller on KLEKT in just a few short steps!
Your item must be brand new, unworn and unused
In order for your sale to go ahead on KLEKT, it’s vital that you remember what items we sell. At KLEKT, we only accept items that are brand new, unworn and unused, in other words, deadstock. Although you may be wondering why that is, the answer is very simple. For us, we want customers to get items that are still box-fresh, meaning that you cannot sell any item that has been worn. Whether it’s five minutes or five days, we do not accept any item that is not deadstock.
B-grade pairs are not accepted
We all know the deal when it comes to early pairs and samples, especially when it comes to B-grade pairs close to a release. At KLEKT, we do not accept any sample, defect pairs or non-retail release pairs. The reason for doing so is that we want to ensure that buyers and sellers are protected. You may have been backdoored a pair straight from the factory, but can you be sure that the seller you got it from has legit pairs?
Check your item is the right size
Now you’ve checked that you’ve got the right item in a deadstock condition, make sure that you check that your item is the right size. At KLEKT, all items are listed in US sizing. Before confirming the sale, make sure that the item you have listed is the correct size. We would hate for your sale to be cancelled if you’ve mistakenly sent a UK11 instead of a US11. This is one of the easier mistakes made, so triple check the sizing before sending.
Your item must have the original packaging in good condition
Now, you may be thinking “well my item is deadstock, so I’ll send it on to KLEKT as it is” but there are a few more things to check first. The integrity of the packaging is another big factor of what we do at KLEKT, especially when it comes to sellers. We will not accept any item that is not in its original packaging in a good condition.
You could have a pair of deadstock Air Dior Jordan 1s but if there’s no original box or a damaged original box, we won’t take it. Make sure you only list items that have the original packaging in a good state. Any damaged packaging could result in your sale being cancelled, so make sure you’d be happy to receive it if you were a buyer.
Your item must have all items included with the original purchase
Once you’ve checked that the item is deadstock, the packaging is in good condition and you’ve got all the original items, it’s time to check your item has any additional items it came with. This includes the size tags, tissue paper, hangtags and more. In order for your sale to be confirmed, your item must look exactly as it did on release day and when it arrived at your home.
Your item must come with any additional accessories it had when first purchased
Once you’ve checked that the item is deadstock, the packaging is in good condition and you’ve got all the original items, it’s time to check your item has all of the accessories it came with. These days, most sneakers and streetwear will come with additional accessories like laces, socks, stickers and, in some cases, there are special commemorative accessories too. Before you send your item to us, make sure that your item has all the original accessories that it had when it first arrived with you.
It’s vital that any item you plan on selling on KLEKT has the original accessories. If your item does not have the original accessories then we may have to cancel the sale. Although you may be thinking “but it’s just an accessory, who cares?” we all know that sneaker and streetwear collectors are nostalgic. Whilst it may just be a set of laces or a sticker, these make up the original parts of the item, making it special to the new buyer.
Do not include any personal information in the packaging
If you’ve kept an item deadstock since you bought it, then there’s a chance that you’ve forgotten about your personal information on the inside of the packaging. Most items will include some personal information, like a receipt, returns label or order summary. Please make sure you remove all personal information from your item before shipping it to us. It may just be a piece of paper, but we want to ensure your details are as safe as possible.
Your item must be double-boxed
After you’ve checked for the accessories, it’s time to start boxing your item up to send it to KLEKT. When preparing your item to send to us, it must be double-boxed with no more than a 5cm gap on each side and bubble wrapped where necessary. Sending us a huge box with just a Supreme keyring in doesn’t make sense, nor does cramming a shoebox into a packaging envelope. It’s important that the packaging integrity is also upheld, something we can all get behind.
