It’s that time of the week where we interview a member of Team KLEKT as part of our 5Qs and 5As interview series. Today, we’re sitting down with Kamo, aka @kamoblue. Having kickstarted his sneaker journey at a young age, Kamo has amassed a solid collection at a relatively young age. You can find everything from collaborative Dunks to the highly coveted Air Dior Jordan 1 in his wardrobe.
Today, we’re going to be finding out a little bit more about Kamo. We’ll be doing a deep dive into his rotation, the very first pair of sneakers he remembers designing and his love of bootleg culture. There will also be a special promotion running on Kamo’s Instagram so make sure you give him a follow on Instagram. Without any further delays, this is 5Qs and 5As with @kamoblue!
Hi @kamoblue, it’s great to have you here. Can you please introduce yourself?
Hey, thanks for having me. My name is Kamo, I’m 23 years old and I live in the south of Germany. I’ve been into fashion since 2013 which started which my music taste. I started listening to A$AP Rocky and was influenced by what he wore. So, I designed a Nike Air Huarache on Nike ID with “Flacko” on the left shoe and “Jodye” on the right shoe. The rest is history!
What’s on your feet right now?
Right now, I’m wearing the Carpet Company x Nike Dunk High. I love this Dunk and the story behind it, but if I’m honest, this is only the fourth time wearing them. I don’t want to destroy them too fast!
What’s your most hyped release of 2021 so far?
I think for most people it is the upcoming fragment design x Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1. For me, however, it was the Carpet Company Dunk and the Nike Dunk High “Football Grey”. I wanted these so bad when they dropped and missed out at retail. Fortunately, I copped both of them from KLEKT!
You also design your own clothes and sneakers, can you tell us more about it?
That’s true, yes! I started designing in 2017/2018 with some hoodies and other pieces. Right now, I’m in the process of producing bootleg Dunks. I love Nike, but bootlegs are something different – you can bring your own vision to life and I love that. I’ve got blue eyes, so my vision is blue, which is why my brand is called LA VISION BLEUE. You can check out some of the work on @visionbleue.
Kamo, can you tell us the last five sneakers you’ve bought?
Okay let me remember, I think it was the:
- fragment x Nike Dunk High “Bejing”
- Nike Dunk High “Syracuse”
- Nike Dunk Low “UNC”
- Lostboys Bootleg Air Jordan 1 “Chicago”
- Air Dior Jordan 1 Low – the most expensive sneaker I have bought!
