My name is Nikola Prokop but most of you know me as @pucineg on Instagram. I’m a 32-year-old mom from a small city called Nachod situated in the East Bohemia region of the Czech Republic. I love collecting sneakers and putting outfits together with them, and with my baby girl. I’m currently a stay-at-home mom but I’m also a tattoo artist.
How did your passion for sneakers start?
I have been always obsessed with shoes. When I was young I loved to steal my mom’s shoes all the time. She always had so many cool pairs. But I think that the most influential part of my passion for sneakers came from hip-hop music and music videos. When I was a teenager I got into street dance and it was basically my entry point into sneaker addiction. And it has stayed with me until now because I always check new hip-hop videos for any inspiration in fashion. But here in Czech, it was really hard to get some sneakers from the American music clips, so finally, when I got my first pair of adidas with the big tongue I was just the happiest kido.
What was the first sneaker that caught your eye and why?
I really was more of an adidas girl back in the 00s. The first pair I wanted was deffo Missy Elliott’s sneaker boots but there was no chance to find them here, so I got some Top Tens. Another pair I really wanted was the adidas Metro Attitude in the white colourway with chameleon sparkle. Actually, the first Jordan pair I really wanted was Jordan 1 Bred. I saw them on Rihanna and searched for them for a really long time. But I finally found my size for a good price about 7 years ago. I still have lists of sneakers I wanted and most of them are actually sneakers from music clips.
