Hi everyone, my name is Christian (@shoeligan_chris on Instagram), I am 36 years old, I live in Schwalmtal, a few kilometres from Düsseldorf and I work in public service. I’ve always had an interest in sneakers, but since 2012 it’s grown even more and the collection keeps getting bigger. I’ve never settled on a specific model or brand, I just like sneakers. I can get something out of almost every design, and I like meeting other sneaker enthusiasts and talking about the latest drops. In this interview, I’ll tell you all about my top 5 picks.
Air Jordan 4 Retro Military Blue (2012)
The Military Blue was the first sneaker I consciously bought with my own money. It is still one of the best sneakers today, and with the colour blocking it still sets the standard for newly released Jordan 4 models.
Yeezy Boost 700 ‘Wave Runner’
I think it was 2017 when the Wave Runner was first released. I fell in love at first sight, it was something completely new at the time and changed the world of sneakers. It still holds a spot as one of my favourite sneakers.
Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Obsidian’ (2019)
For me personally, one of the best Jordan 1 Highs. The two shades of blue with the cream white are just so good and make the entire sneaker a coherent picture. The AJ1 Obsidian should not be missing from any collection.
Nike Dunk High Spartan Green (2020)
The Spartan Green is one of the cleanest Dunk Highs. With cream laces it’s a real eye-catcher and spices up every outfit. It’s almost always in my rotation and can’t be missed.
Nike x sacai Vaporwaffle Black
The collab between Nike and sacai hooked me straight away. The mix of materials and this double sole are simply amazing. The black/white colourway is one of my favourite sneakers in my collection. I hope that a few more colourways will be released in the future.
