When Nike launched the Dunk in 1985, it was a big success in the world of basketball. The original “Be True To Your School” campaign saw eight Nike Dunks drop in specific school colourways. One of those colourways was Syracuse University. Whilst the original Syracuse Dunks may have released in a high top version, it looks as though Nike is taking a different approach to its 35th-anniversary counterpart.
Originally debuted by Chicago hero Don C, we now have a closer look at the upcoming “Syracuse” Nike Dunk Low. Keeping the familiar combination of white and orange leather, the Syracuse Dunks are an updated take on the classic sneaker. A white mesh tongue, complete with Nike on the front, gives this shoe its retro feel. Orange laces come as standard, with the expected alternative option being a fresh white pair.
Low Nike Dunks are having a resurgence in 2020, partly thanks to Travis Scott and Virgil Abloh. With that in mind, Nike has taken the already popular Syracuse colourway and transitioned it to a low top version of the sneaker.
With the 1985 Syracuse Dunks being highly sought after, this gives newer fans a chance to own a pair. Whilst there is no official launch date on these, you can expect the shoes to release sooner rather than later. Will you be adding these to your sneaker rotation?
