Since being teased back in 2018, sneakerheads around the world have been patiently waiting for the 1017 ALYX 9SM x Nike Air Force 1 to get a release date. Over the past few months, pairs have cropped up in limited numbers during Paris Fashion Week and at various other events. Of course, as quickly as they pop-up, they disappear. However, that all looks to be changing. After nearly two years in the making, the ALYX AF1s are finally set to launch this week.
ALYX founder and creative director of Givenchy, Matthew Williams has opted for a rather stripped back approach on this collaboration. Premium tumbled leather can be seen throughout the entire shoe, but it is the buckle mechanism on the tongue that is the real star of the show. Gold “1017 ALYX 9SM” branding can be seen on the heel, with custom lace dubraes bearing the same numbers. Dropping in both a “Black/White” and “Black/Black” colour scheme, this understated AF1 collab is an instant hit in our eyes.
If you like the look of the 1017 ALYX 9SM x Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, then good luck. As for now, there is no news on whether this is a US exclusive release.
