We’re sure that the Nike Dunk Low “NY vs. NY” is going to be on the cop list for every street baller. Nike has been releasing a lot of themed sneakers over the past year, with this latest Dunk being no exception. Taking inspiration from New York’s rich street basketball culture, the shoe is a fitting ode to one of the city’s most well-documented past times. Now, Nike is paying tribute to its own summer basketball tournament in the city with the “NY vs. NY” Dunk.
At first glance, the Dunk is already extremely eye-catching. A combination of green leather on the toe boxes, quarters, tongues and collars. Pebbled white leather accents the mudguards, eyestays and heel tabs, with a distinctive orange Swoosh across the midsection adding a splash of colour. A matching orange tongue tag also comes as standard with “NY vs. NY” embroidery on the rear panel also adding a nice touch to this Nike Dunk.
However, not all is as it seems on this sneaker when under a black light. The icy sole lights up and the stitching comes alive, with the rear panel embroidery taking on a new lease of life. Even the sole has a hidden message, highlighting the various parks that the summer league takes place in. These Dunks are going to be a big release this year, trust us.
If you like the look of the Nike Dunk Low “NY vs. NY” then sit tight. Right now, there’s no release information, but we’re guessing these will drop in time for summer for around €100. Check out the images below and let us know if you’ll cop these Dunks.
