With All-Star Weekend just around the corner, almost every sneaker brand on the planet has some exciting drops planned. Last week, we saw what Jordan Brand had in store for All-Star Weekend; to say it didn’t disappoint would be an understatement. Thankfully, Nike is honouring the legacy of Michael Jordan and Chi-Town with this upcoming Air Jordan 3 release.
Originally debuting in 1988, the Air Jordan 3 quickly caught the attention of all those who watched His Airness play. Like all of his signature sneakers, it came to embody the city of Chicago and, more importantly, what made Michael Jordan great. This latest take on the classic silhouette merges those two things together seamlessly, creating a shoe that many sneakerheads will want to get their hands on.
For the most part, this latest Air Jordan 3 is a familiar throwback to days gone by. A combination of premium tumbled leather in a distinct bright red make this sneaker feel older than its years. The classic cement print can be seen along the mudguard and heel; bringing the classic Black Cement and White Cement feel to this silhouette.
Breaking all of this colour up is the traditional white midsole with grey outsole; merging the past with the present flawlessly. In keeping with the retro feel, “Nike Air” can be found on the heel tabs, with an embossed Jumpman on the tongue. Residents of Chicago can also expect a limited edition version to drop with “Nike Chi” on the heel tabs.
Although so many great sneakers are releasing across All-Star Weekend, you can expect these to be one of the most sought after pairs.
