Kith has had an incredible 10 years. Since its inception in 2011, Ronnie Fieg has taken Kith from strength to strength. It’s collaborations with adidas, ASICS and Nike have seen it become one of the most respected brands in the sneaker community. Kith was the first collaborator of Versace; a landmark achievement for a brand less than a decade old.
A cryptic Instagram post on Tuesday had fans guessing as to what could be happening behind closed doors. Fieg posted an image of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro that was taken from The Godfather Part II, leaving fans patiently waiting to announce more info. Last night, Fieg took to Instagram once again to reveal an edited version of the classic Godfather logo, this time with Kith taking the limelight.
“Kith for The Godfather” is simply stated in the caption, leaving fans guessing as to what could be released. Fieg is a native New Yorker and very proud of it. Given that The Godfather is based around the Italian Mafia’s influence in New York, and Italian American culture is an important of the city, this collab is an ode to the Big Apple.
Of course, Kith is no stranger to working with films. The brand had a weekly drop that featured classic films reworked with Kith logos. Whilst the details on this upcoming collaboration are slim, it’s safe to say that this is exciting. Let’s just hope there are no horses involved.
Here at KLEKT, we’ll keep you updated once we have more information about this mob inspired drop.
