The Air Jordan 1 is turning 35 this year; a big deal in the world of sneakers. Peter C. Moore’s iconic design has remained one of the most important shoes in history over the past three decades, and for good reason. Nike and Jordan Brand have been celebrating the Air Jordan 1 in a big way the past few years, dropping the shoe in luxurious materials and with some crazy collabs.
One of those materials that has become a fan favourite is satin. 2019 saw the release of the Air Jordan 1 Satin ‘Black Toe’, whetting the sneaker community’s appetite with the hope of more releases. Now, we have a closer look at a simple black and red satin Air Jordan 1 that is set to release next month.
The Bred Satin Air Jordan 1 perked interests when it was first revealed last year. Taking the iconic colourway and draping it in the high-end material was a big hit in the community. For the most part, satin adorns the entire upper across multiple panels. Jordan Brand has used leather across the toe, heel and laces to create a well-balanced shoe.
Red laces, a red tongue tag and red Wings logo help break the all-black upper apart. A white midsole and black sole add to the division, finishing this luxury sneaker off nicely.
