We’ll be honest, a CDG x CPFM T-shirt collection was not something we saw coming. To our surprise, COMME des GARÇONS and Cactus Plant Flea Market appear to have been working on something for a while now. The two juxtaposing brands on paper would not work, with Rei Kawakubo’s favoured black and white palette being miles away from Cynthia Lu’s vibrant aesthetic. Well, it looks like a CDG x CPFM collab is set to drop this week.
Opting for a balance between the two brands, the CDG x CPFM T-shirt collection is certainly eye-catching. Dropping in two versions (front only print and front and back print), the range is bold, to say the least. The instantly recognisable COMME des GARÇONS “CDG” logo is emblazoned across the chest alongside playful graphics and a large “CPFM” underneath. The contrasting nature of the collection shows hand drawings of the sun, a yin yang symbol and a flower against the black and white text. A large lowercase “I’m OK!” can be seen on one T-shirt, whilst it stretches down another in large red writing.
If you like the look of the CDG x CPFM T-shirt collection, then there’s good news. According to sources, the T-shirts will launch on May 7th via CDG stores for €110/€115 depending on which T-shirt version you go for.
