Today, we’re sitting down with Marta aka @martasantandrea. Marta is a student and content creator from Italy, juggling her studies and passion for sneakers every so perfectly!

Hi KLEKT! Thank you for letting me participate in this series. I’m Marta! I’m 20 years old from Bologna, Italy. I’m currently a student, and on the side I work on social media as a Content Creator!
Was there a certain shoe that sparked your passion for sneakers?
My passion for sneakers started when I was around 12 years old. I’m a dancer, and I always dreamed of having a pair of Jordan’s to dance in after watching Step Up 3, the movie haha. After watching that film, I bought my very first pair. The rest is history.
What are your Top 3 sneakers of 2021?
Like everyone else this year, I’m super into Dunks! So much so I’ve actually started buying them more than Jordan’s!
So, my Top 3 releases of 2021 start with my favourite sneaker, the Nike SB Dunk High Carpet Company, this shoe is amazing! I’m in love with them. In second place, it would have to be a pair of Nike Blazers, specifically the READYMADE Mid White. I feel this is a bit more of a unique shoe, and many people probably don’t even know this shoe exists because they are so focused on Jordan’s, but the story behind this shoe makes it even better. In third place, I would have to choose the Nike SB Dunk Low What the Paul. I don’t even have to say anything about them, they speak for themselves.
What are your favourite WMNS sneaker releases, and who has been your biggest sneaker influence?
My favourite women’s releases have been the J1 Zoom CMFT x Aleali May, the J1 Mid “Fearless” x Melody Ehsani, the Nike Dunk Low Photon Dust, Air Jordan 1 Retro High Twist (Panda) and the Air Jordan 1 Blue Chill (Patent UNC). To name a few!
Obviously, I need to talk about Aleali May. I’ve followed her ever since I created my IG profile. She’s a queen. I can’t begin to explain her influence on women in sneaker culture and just how many women she’s brought into the sneakers game. I’m so proud of her and all the work she’s done. Especially, all the projects she did with Jordan. My favourite piece, which also happens to be my grail, is her pair of J1 Retro High Shadow, released in 2017.
