Sean Wotherspoon is arguably one of the most widely respected people in the sneaker industry. Since winning the Nike Vote Forward Competition in 2017, the Round Two owner has had his life completely transformed. Over the past few years, Wotherspoon has worked with some of the biggest sneaker brands on the planet including ASICS and adidas. Now, after several teasers, we have an official look at the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Originals SUPEREARTH.
Originally leaked back in February, the sneaker community has been patiently waiting to cop. The main focus of the sneaker design was simple: make it vegan and as least wasteful as possible. As you can imagine, the result is something that is nothing short of amazing. Taking the same iconic shape of the adidas Superstar, the SUPEREARTH is Wotherspoon’s spin on this classic model.
The main focus on this sneaker are the frayed flowers that line the sides. Multicoloured flowers feature frayed edges on the sides, almost reminiscent of Y-3 Superstars of old. A classic white base is paired with a pale blue colour on the eyestays, making for a well-balanced tonal sneaker. Replacing the traditional adidas Trefoil on the tongue are Sean Wotherspoon’s emblem and “SUPEREARTH.”
