After a successful debut collaboration in the summer of 2018, The Weeknd and BAPE have been relatively quiet. The sell-out campaign saw the Starboy singer work with the Japanese streetwear label to drop a number of items using BAPE’s familiar camo, much to the delight of fashion fans around the globe. Now, the two are teaming up once more to drop a capsule collection that is perfect for the coming season.
Using The Weeknd’s signature XO record label as inspiration, BAPE has crafted a number of highly desirable items with a custom camo print. One of the most eye-catching pieces is the corduroy varsity jacket which features XO logos on the left chest as well as the iconic Ape Head on the right chest. Other notable pieces include the denim jacket, emblazoned with large XO logos across both the arms as well as placed on the back. The Generals logo has been embroidered onto the back of the aforementioned pieces and uses the XO motto of “XO Generals: Til We Overdose” placed underneath.
It’s not all heavy-duty pieces and statement pieces, however, with the BAPE x XO collection also featuring Shark Hoodies, tracksuits and hats. A range of T-shirts with mixed graphics has also been designed, putting playful twists on the Ape Head logo as well as The Weeknd in Baby Milo form alongside his two dogs.
The 25-piece collection, which will launch on January 11th, is already shaping up to be one of the best this month.
