There is no denying Tyler, the Creator’s influence in the world of streetwear. Having come up during the peak era of Supreme in the late 2000s, Tyler helped turn a whole generation of kids onto the box logo brand. His own label GOLFWANG has also grown with him, turning from a merchandise shop into a fully-fledged brand. Collaborations with the likes of Converse and Lacoste have helped it become a serious contender in the streetwear world. Now, Levi’s is tapping up GOLFWANG on a limited collection.
With Levi’s celebrating the 501 Day on May 20th, it has asked Tyler, the Creator to reimagine its signature denim. Taking the 501 ’93 jean and vintage fit trucker jacket, Tyler has covered the pieces in a rainbow print polka-dot pattern. The denim also opts for a much baggier style instead of the skinnier fit. The rapper has always worn a size up in his denim, giving him a slouched look. To top it off, a special edition co-branded patch can be seen on the back of the jeans, giving a relaxed look to the collab.
Not too dissimilar from a Damien Hirst painting, this collab is almost a wearable piece of art. Launching on Friday, May 20th, the GOLFWANG x Levi’s collab will available in limited numbers. Check out the official images below and let us know if you’ll cop.
