There are some watches that are truly revolutionary. The Cartier Santo. The Breitling Navitimer. The Rolex Submariner. All of these watches have stood the test of time in the analogue field, and for good reason. When Casio introduced the GM-6900 25 years ago, it was a pioneering watch in its own right. The almost indestructible timepiece would go on to become one of Casio’s best selling pieces, being worn all over the globe. now, 25 years later, the brand is creating a metal bezel version to honour it.
A limited run of metal bezel watches will be used; the first time that the GM-6900 has been been given this treatment. After receiving the “Third Eye” nickname back in 1995, a reference to the three dials above the face, the GM-6900 is one of the most instantly recognisable electronic timepieces around. The upgraded watches will feature a mirror finish and also come in three eye-catching colours: red, gold and silver.
Another two versions of the GM-6900SP will also release, both with a less flashy face. A fully translucent SP will release, along with an all-black version too. Given the rarity of these upcoming watches, you can guarantee these will be a collector. Check out the images below and let us know which one you plan on picking up.
