Few collaborations have shocked the fashion industry as much as Dior x Air Jordan. Since being revealed at Dior Miami presentation in December last year, the luxury take on the iconic Jordan Brand DNA has been taking the world by storm. Dior and Jordan Brand’s first collaboration is already tipped to be the drop of the year. However, after delayed release dates, several push backs and a global pandemic to deal with, it looked as though the release would not happen at all. Well, now we have some good news.
Coming straight from the House of Dior, we now have a confirmed release date for the upcoming apparel and further information about the sneaker release. According to Dior, the “Air Dior sneakers will release via an exclusive online experience.” As for now, there are no other details. However, given the scale, hype and cost of this Dior x Air Jordan sneaker, you can expect it to be a raffle system rather than a first come first serve basis. Of course, that doesn’t mean all hope is lost.
What we do have some clarity on is the apparel and accessories launch. Dior has stated on its website that the Air Dior ready-to-wear and accessories will be available from July 8th in the following European stores; Dior Men – London Selfridges, Dior Men – Paris Saint-Honoré, Dior Men – London New Bond Street. The release of the clothing will give streetwear fans the chance to cop clothing, accessories and some unique Air Dior pieces.
As you can imagine, this is going to be a very big release. The Air Dior collection is the first high-end collaboration for Jordan Brand. Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Dior men’s stated: “I love mixing together different worlds, different ideas – Jordan Brand and Dior are both emblematic of absolute excellence in their fields. To bring them together in this special collaboration is to propose something exciting and truly new.”
