Over the past 12 years, Supreme and The North Face has become one of the most revered relationships in streetwear. The unlikely collaborations have created arguably some of Supreme’s most sought after pieces and for good reason. A combination of New York street style with Californian outdoor knowledge has meant Supreme x The North Face drops are ones to get excited about in the fashion calendar.
As the partnership has grown stronger, Supreme has also been given access to exclusive The North Face pieces. In recent years, The North Face has given Supreme access to its archive, as well as brand new technologies. All of these factors combined have ensured that Supreme x TNF has remained a largely successful part of Supreme seasons. As Supreme SS20 is almost over, we looked at the top 10 Supreme x The North Face collaborations.

Supreme x The North Face Summit Series Jacket (SS08)

Following on from its inaugural collaboration, Supreme and The North Face teamed up once again in 2008 for the Spring/Summer campaign. The hype surrounding the collaboration was already high, with many streetwear enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the release. After the first drop sold out in record time, Supreme decided to take things back to basics. Enlisting the work of its designers, Supreme honoured the city that gave it a home: New York.
Taking The North Face Summit Jacket, Supreme created a “night” and “day” version of the same graphic. The graphic depicted the Public Library in Midtown, New York, featuring detailed images of the library and surrounding areas. Of course, this was an instant hit with all native New Yorkers. Large Supreme branding on the left arm, as well as the co-branding on the right, made this jacket a big hit for all Supreme fans. In recent years, the price on these has only gone up. If you’ve got around €15,000, why not cop?
Supreme x The North Face Mountain Parka (SS13)

In the six years since the initial launch, Supreme North Face jackets had become one of the hottest items in streetwear. As the two brands looked to continue the successful relationship, there was no denying that it had to start getting creative. For SS13, Supreme x The North Face decided to make an eye-catching collection, with a distinct focus on making sure that every item outshone the last. Enter the use of 3M reflective materials.
Creating a custom fit for Supreme, The North Face issued the Mountain Parka. An entirely 3M reflective shell featured ripstop panels at the shoulder, as well as patches on the elbows. Dropping in two colours, Silver/Red and Silver/Black, The North Face x Supreme created one of the most iconic jackets in streetwear with relative ease. As time has passed, this has remained a memorable piece in the Supreme x The North Face arsenal.
Supreme x The North Face Leather Nuptse (FW17)

The North Face Nuptse is one jacket that is instantly recognisable. Originally released in 1992, The Nuptse Jacket was created when TNF had decided to innovate its products by talking to athletes, mountaineers and members of the US Marine Corps. Of course, Supreme has also put its spin on the Nuptse Jacket a number of times. However, none of the previous Supreme x The North Face collaborations made use of premium leather.
Released during the FW17 season, Supreme created three Leather Nuptse Jackets, complete with all of The North Face icons usual pieces. The relatively simple design focused on using high-quality leather across the three colourways. Dropping in black, yellow and red, Supreme’s ode to the original colours of The North Face Nuptse Jacket. 25 years after the Nuptse originally released, Supreme paid its fitting tribute to the game-changing piece of outerwear.
Supreme x The North Face Expedition Coaches Jacket (SS14)

2014 was a very big year in Supreme’s history. The brand was about to turn 20 years old, a monumental achievement for James Jebbia’s fledgeling skate brand. To celebrate, Supreme announced a number of collaborations. In fact, Supreme worked with almost major label on the planet throughout the year including COMME des GARÇONS, Nike and Vans. Fortunately for us, The North Face and Supreme also dropped a bold jacket.
Featuring a large atlas map of the world, the Expedition Coaches Jacket was certainly a statement piece. The Supreme x TNF jacket featured every continent across the jacket, covering the arms, chest, front and back. Much like the 2008 Summit Series Jacket, this Supreme jacket featured large branding down the left arm and also included six flags on the chest. It’s safe to say that this was a big hit across the globe, selling out in seconds and quickly hitting the resell market for almost four times its original price.
Supreme x The North Face Nuptse Jacket (FW13)

Fashion has always been inspired by the wonderful world of nature. Whether it’s cheetah print skirts or scaled shirts, nature has influenced fashion for the best part of 80 years. Of course, this has allowed big brands to experiment with the use of animal print too. After the initial success of its 2011 animal collaboration (more on that later), Supreme and The North Face were back once more to create arguably its best animal-inspired piece.
Using rabbit fur as the reference, this The North Face x Supreme collaboration featured an all-over print mimicking the texture of fur. Both a Nuptse Jacket and Sleeveless Vest were filled with The North Face’s 700-fill goose down, making the jacket arguably as warm, or if not warmer, as a fur coat. Minimal branding appeared on the right arm, a signature that is now synonymous with TNF x Supreme collabs. This jacket has only increased in value over the years and, to be honest, its easy to see why.
Supreme x The North Face Cargo Jacket (SS20)

With the popularity of Supreme x The North Face collaborations only growing, the two brands have been ensuring that they can meet the demand. For SS20, TNF x Supreme collaborated three times, a record number in any given season. Covering everything from charity T-shirts to full-blown RTG collections, SS20 has been the busiest yet for Supreme x North Face. Whilst you may be wondering why we’ve included the latest Supreme x The North Face collaboration, there’s a very good reason.
Simply put, this is going to be a future classic between Supreme and The North Face. Using three colourways on a number of pieces, the recent TNF x Supreme collection has been one of the highlights of the SS20 campaign. Featuring a pink, purple and lilac dyed pattern, this Cargo Jacket comes complete with large branding on the back and subtle branding on the arm. You can be sure that the value of this jacket will only increase over time.
Supreme x The North Face Mountain Parka (FW14)

Over the past few years, Supreme and The North Face collections have become something of a staple in the release calendar. What has now turned into multiple accessories, T-shirts, jumpers and bags was not always the case. Back in 2014, Supreme unveiled that it would be working with The North Face to launch its biggest collection at the time. Of course, the news went on to take the streetwear community by storm, and for good reason.
Featuring a paisley pattern across the Mountain Parka, Rolling Thunder Travel Pack, Dolomite Sleeping Bag, Thermoball Traction Mule slippers and gloves, this was a big winner for fans of The North Face and Supreme. However, the Mountain Parka is without a doubt the most coveted item from the release. Dropping both blue and red, the Mountain Parka featured the large paisley pattern throughout as well as the traditional branding on the arm. An instant classic for many Supreme fans.
Supreme x The North Face Nuptse Jacket (SS11)

As 2011 got underway, Supreme was quick to reveal its launch plans for its SS11 campaign. Having experienced explosive growth over the past 10 years, Supreme had to ensure that it kept the momentum going. Collaborations with the likes of Vans, Playboy and Nike made sure that 2011 was one of the most exciting years in Supreme’s history. However, its SS11 collaboration with The North Face was one of the first times that Supreme had been spotted on the world stage.
Donned by Drake in his 2011 video for The Motto, the Supreme x North Face Leopard Nuptse quickly caught the attention of his fans. Dropping in three colours, yellow, green and grey, the Supreme leopard Nuptse Jacket was one of the standout moments in the SS droplist. Drizzy could be seen wearing the grey leopard Nuptse as he drove around, making it a must-have item for many. As time has gone by, the hype around this jacket hasn’t gone away, with prices regularly reaching into the thousands.
Supreme x The North Face Coaches Jacket (SS18)

It is easy to see why Supreme has always been known for its wild, if not sometimes garish, designs. The brands DNA is rooted in skating, meaning that sometimes the pieces have been created to push the envelope a little. Whether that’s political stickers or simply something littered in foul language, Supreme likes to go that little bit further. With that in mind, Supreme and The North Face created arguably the loudest jacket in its history back in SS18, building on the nature theme all too well.
Utilising an all-over snakeskin print, Supreme mixed things up on this The North Face collaboration. The snakeskin theme ran across everything from tents to hats, as well as this bold outerwear. Taking the iconic Coaches Jacket, Supreme decked the whole thing out in a green snakeskin design. Furthermore, a large The North Face graphic was used on the back, just in case you needed reminding who the collab was with. Whilst it may be a divisive piece, we love it.
Supreme x The North Face Mountain Pullover (FW15)

As the FW15 campaign was getting underway, Supreme had a lot to live up to. After the success of the Supreme x Air Jordan 5, there was a lot of pressure in ensuring the rest of the season was as good. Many doubted James Jebbia and Supreme but did Supreme care? Absolutely not. Did they fail? Of course not. Taking The North Face Mountain Jacket, Supreme covered it in large graphic branding with one simple message: “By Any Mean Necessary.”
The slogan, which was made famous by Malcolm X, covered an entire Supreme x The North Face collection. Utilising everything from Nuptse Jackets to Basecamp Crimp Backpacks, this was one collab you wouldn’t forget. However, this Mountain Jacket is arguably the best from the drop. The simple navy jacket features large white writing throughout. Co-branding on the arm, as well as being waterproof, made this a clear winner. If you’re looking to cop this jacket, then good luck. Over time these have become increasingly difficult to get hold of in good condition.
