Following rumours and sneak peek pictures, the Balenciaga x adidas collab has finally been revealed in a runway show on the New York Stock Exchange trading floor.
The collection features the previously covered three-stripe redesign of the Balenciaga Triple S (850 €), coming in white and blue colourways. There’s also their iconic sock-like Speed Trainers (795 €), now sporting three white stripes and trefoil branding. The collection also features striped track, puffer, and denim jackets, socks and tees.
Since the release, the pieces have been selling out, but Balenciaga’s typically received as much attention for their unique presentation and aesthetic quirks as the clothes themselves.
The runway show was set against the backdrop of the NYSE, making this the venue’s first fashion show (and maybe a tongue-in-cheek nod to the collections’ price points). The venue’s screens and monitors can also be seen flickering, creating a post-apocalyptic vibe. But the most eye-catching sights were the models, not only decked on the collection blend of high-fashion and sportswear but also shrouded in skin-tight masks, hunched over and rapidly marching down the runway.
Once again Balenciaga has curated an aesthetic that’s as absurd as it is stylish. Check out a range of pieces from Balenciaga and adidas on KLEKT
