Pharrell Williams has already had a massive summer, reuniting with Clipse to produce one of the best albums of the year. Now, he’s entering a whole new chapter of his long-running adidas collaboration with his upcoming Jellyfish sneaker.
Back in June during Paris Fashion Week, we got one of the best showcases of the Jellyfish model. Ahead of the release of Let God Sort Em Out, Malice and Pusha T made an appearance wearing one of several colourways set to drop this summer. Pharrell – in Paris as the Creative Director of menswear for Louis Vuitton – also showed off shoe on the runway. Adding to the fun fishy theme, limited F&F pairs came packed in plastic goldfish bags.
But that’s enough about the marketing for now, let’s get into the shoes themselves. Routed in the chunky runner tradition of the Adistar Cushion, the upper comes in a lightweight textile upper, covered with bulbous TPU overlays similar to squishy tentacles. The tongue features Jellyfish branding as well as a nod to Pharrell’s home state of Virginia. Underneath, sits a plush foam midsole with adiPRENE cushioning and a durable rubber outsole.

So far the star colourway in previews has been the Virginia Orange. This pair features bold streaks of orange and thick black adidas stripes over a white and grey base. The Jellyfish will also get a full spectrum of colourways to choose from, like most of Pharrell’s adidas collaborations. After garnering months of hype, the Jellyfish isn’t just one of this summer’s hottest shoes, but might be the next big adidas collab to soak up the spotlight.
The adidas x Pharrell Williams Adistar Jellyfish is set to drop on the 15th of August. As always, if you miss out on the retail release, head over to KLEKT and check out the listings.
